Most people will still have children as a couple and raise them as such.

The argument is really about protecting the rights of the women who wish to have children as single mothers.NYMOMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05762350054432716749noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8740475.post-82428509102186299552008-03-31T15:13:00.000-04:002008-03-31T15:13:00.000-04:00Really, it's a stupid debate. Eliminating one sex...Really, it's a stupid debate. Eliminating one sex would spell the end of the human race in a matter of a few generations, no matter if it's males or females who are eliminated. A world full of men probably would not take care of babies and kill each other off in wars. A world full of women would spend so much time caring for their children and only gathering enough resources for their own that society would never advance. For our future, we still need both sexes to survive.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8740475.post-48406441763858957412008-03-29T11:17:00.000-04:002008-03-29T11:17:00.000-04:00Hi Val...if you tried to email me at work it might...Hi Val...if you tried to email me at work it might have bounced as my email has been pretty full lately. We are getting close to graduation and more emails are generated at this time of year. So when I reach my space 'quota', if I don't start deleting things, other emails bounce back until I do.

If you sent it to my nymom@womenasmothers.info, account, maybe it's the same thing since I haven't looked at that in ages so it might be full. I was debating whether or not to get rid of it but it's only $24.00 annually so it's not a big expense.

The other thing that might have happened is that I put a 'block' on it by mistake. As I've been getting a lot of junk mail lately and blocking it as I go along. Maybe somehow by mistake I blocked you???

So I'll check on Monday regarding why it bounced and 'unblock' you if it was a mistake.NYMOMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05762350054432716749noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8740475.post-6094502909014718312008-03-28T13:36:00.000-04:002008-03-28T13:36:00.000-04:00P.S. Single parenthood has been studied in numerous countries among all sorts of ethnic and socioeconomic groups and the result is the same.

It sucks.

The question is no longer up for debate except among feminuts and liberals with a vested interest in getting government to continue to underwrite all this female irresponsibility which we can no longer afford.

As in: "Single motherhood isn't the problem. Poverty and racism are the problem. Now if you'll just give us more money and more programs all the problems will go away..."

And of course all the evidence shows that money does not make the problems go away, so...attack the evidence.

Ho hum.

RichardAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8740475.post-44261443456340859512008-03-26T12:35:00.000-04:002008-03-26T12:35:00.000-04:00The pot calling the kettle... let's not go there!I...The pot calling the kettle... let's not go there!

I didn't "cull" this statistic. On the contrary, this is a general statistic that includes ALL single mothers in this country. The burden of proof is now on you to demonstrate that this statistic doesn't apply to non-black single mothers.

In all fairness, if you make blanket generalizations about the virtues of mothers then you should be prepared for similar observations to the contrary. Indeed, Mens' Rights Activitists are still a minority in a culture that is awash with pro-female chivalry and feminism. I WISH we were more relevent, but we aren't. If women are blowing confidence from society in their role as mothers, it's because they jumped that shark all on their own.PolishKnighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16740194441387995674noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8740475.post-89989575168520092008-03-25T20:16:00.000-04:002008-03-25T20:16:00.000-04:00The paradox is people like you who wish to isolate...The paradox is people like you who wish to isolate certain statistics and make them the whole story.

Taking the lowest performing groups in our society (African Americans, illegal immigrants, etc.,) and then culling their statistics to present to the world as the "American" story.

That's the problem...

You cannot view mankind in this sort of isolation and make these grand blanket pronouncements about single motherhood being solely responsible for a whole host of social ills.

Can't you see that is a distortion????NYMOMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05762350054432716749noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8740475.post-46843174365328710422008-03-25T17:21:00.000-04:002008-03-25T17:21:00.000-04:00Hello NYMOM,Your argument is fundamentally paradox...Hello NYMOM,

Your argument is fundamentally paradoxical in two ways: For one, you argue that it's misleading to generalize about violent children from fatherless households since so many are black making it a racial issue and then turn around and make a generalization about violent men by looking at non-western countries. Isn't that also redirection? In addition, most non-western patriarchal countries are also non-white blowing away the comparison completely!

NYMOM and LorMar both have stressed that "women have a bond with their children that is way beyond what men have" yet still want to blame someone else for producing, well, violent men. Which is it? Are women raising the adorable gangbangers, or are they not raising children even when single parents? This applies in WHATEVER society where women are performing the "primary" caregiving role!

Another paradox: NYMOM argues that immigrants from the former USSR were impressed by the facilities that blacks enjoyed but at the same time seeks to redirect blame for the high crime rates of the children of single mothers on their environment. How are such women and their children victims of racism when they lived in black neighborhoods their whole lives and were guaranteed support from the U.S. government? In addition, most of this violence broke out AFTER the civil rights movement which coincides with the rise of single motherhood. Logically, wouldn't black crime have been higher BEFORE the civil rights movement, not after?

It's worth repeating that I don't spend too many lonely nights worrying about biology replacing men. Until there's a way to clone "child" support in a test tube, men are going to be around a while! Your position is a bit strange since at times NYMOM seems to say that all she wants is feminine autonomy and men to leave mothers alone when asked, but at the same time sympathizes with the state collecting CS from men to keep the children from starving in her care or wards of the state.

Finally, NYMOM, with (true) respect: If you're getting old and don't want to repeat the stories, post a URL to somewhere else on your site such as an FAQ or previous article and I'll be happy to follow it.PolishKnighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16740194441387995674noreply@blogger.com
