For many reasons. Including the mother/child bond of course.

I don't honestly see the problem in the press expecting us to be more shocked when a mom, who is the last person you'd expect, does such a thing. Because of the very fact that she IS the last person you'd expect.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8740475.post-1113953144628540152005-04-19T19:25:00.000-04:002005-04-19T19:25:00.000-04:00Yes, I accept that people might be more shocked at...Yes, I accept that people might be more shocked at a mother murdering her children then if a father did it...however, what I'm talking about is trying to use these stories as propaganda tools to paint mothers in a bad light...

AND you too are trying to have it both ways...since following your gender neutralized logic would mean that there should be NO shock displayed in the media since both sexes are the same...NYMOMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05762350054432716749noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8740475.post-1113932614123878382005-04-19T13:43:00.000-04:002005-04-19T13:43:00.000-04:00Ok, but doesn't it make PERFECT sense to be more s...Ok, but doesn't it make PERFECT sense to be more shocked by MOTHERS who kill their children? I mean, you go on and on about how fathers have no bond with children...I quote: "The bottom line is there is no evidence whatsoever that a parenting instinct exists or frankly that even a fatherhood instinct exists. Fatherhood is a social construct. There is no bond or link between father and child, other then the one that is created after birth, of which there is nothing instinctual about it," and with all that you say about the MATERNAL instinct...

Then you get all shocked and shaken that people are more shocked by women who kill their children?

You can't have it both ways.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8740475.post-1104453881868600772004-12-30T19:44:00.000-05:002004-12-30T19:44:00.000-05:00It doesn't matter if the story is two years or two...It doesn't matter if the story is two years or two hundred years old...

Historic truths don't change...NYMOMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05762350054432716749noreply@blogger.com
